Te Whare Tiwekaweka is Marlon Williams’ first full-length album sung entirely in te reo Māori, marking a profound step in his artistic and cultural journey. Guided by the whakataukī “Ko te reo Māori he matapihi ki te ao Māori” (“The Māori language is a window to the Māori world”), the album reconnects Williams with ancestry, language, and home.

Developed over five years alongside close collaborator KOMMI, and supported by The Yarra Benders and additional vocal ensembles, the album blends folk, country, pop, and Māori rhythmic traditions into a work that feels both timeless and contemporary. Housed in a gatefold sleeve, Te Whare Tiwekaweka stands as one of Williams’ most meaningful and resonant releases.
